Eric Bergstrom

Eric Bergstrom is an instructor and assistant director with Penn State’s Management Development Programs and Services.

Mr. Bergstrom has experience in organization development, human resource management, and manufacturing/operations management. He has significant experience teaching and facilitating credit and noncredit business management courses as well as training and development, and organizational development courses. He has developed and delivered leadership programs and services customized to support organizational strategy. He is a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops, where his topics include organizational transformation, employee empowerment, human resource development, strategic human resource management, human resource measurement and metrics, and leadership development.

Prior to joining Penn State, Mr. Bergstrom spent more than 20 years in a variety of human resources and manufacturing management positions at Sperry New Holland, RCA, and RR Donnelley & Sons Company, including serving in the roles of line supervisor, division human resource manager, and organization development manager. He has led a multiplant training and  organization development initiative and has facilitated transformation efforts in both manufacturing and staff organizations. He has designed and implemented HR strategy and activities to build organizational competitive advantage, specifically in Open Book Management and Lean Enterprise environments. In addition, he has developed and implemented succession planning processes and tools, and has created and led craft, supervisory, manager and executive development programs and services. He has also developed and delivered training and development programs for sales trainees, management trainees, and craft reserves, and has provided developmental coaching to program participants.

Mr. Bergstrom earned his M.Ed. degree in training and development from Penn State, and has completed course work for a Ph.D.  in workforce education and development.
