Terry Blakney is a professional associate of Management Development at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. He joined Penn State Management Development Programs and Services in 2004.
Terry Blakney is a lecturer in statistics at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and a professional associate of Management Development.
In addition to his Management Development appointment, Mr. Blakney is a senior lecturer in statistics at the Erie campus.
During his seventeen-year career at Behrend, Mr. Blakney has taught many mathematics and statistics courses. He is the chairman for the statistics minor at Penn State Erie, as well as the program coordinator for mathematics.
Mr. Blakney has been involved in numerous outreach opportunities in the United States and Canada and has participated in the design, planning, and training of more than 1,800 people in Six Sigma Methodology. Mr. Blakney and Dr. Tony Salvia, professor emeritus of industrial engineering at Penn State Erie, were involved in the transition of General Electric Transportation Systems into a Six Sigma company. They were the only non-GE employees system-wide to train the company’s employees during the initial three-year push into Six Sigma. The team continued to develop the training materials and began offering their program to other companies, mainly through the use of Penn State’s Continuing Education departments.
Mr. Blakney earned a B.S. in secondary mathematics education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in statistics from the University of South Florida.
